About Dr Zeb McNamara
Dr Zeb McNamara is a patient focused surgeon who practices the full scope of oral & maxillofacial surgery.
He enjoys the wide spectrum of cases in the field ranging from dentoalveolar surgery, dental implantology, corrective jaw surgery to complex facial trauma.
Dr Zeb McNamara was born and raised in Queensland, and is happy that he had the opportunity whilst growing up to live both in the great south east and rural Queensland. After completing high school in Emerald (central Queensland) where he received the school’s first OP1, he moved to Brisbane and completed his Dentistry, Medicine and Pharmacy degrees at the University of Queensland. During his university studies he received several accolades including Commonwealth Scholarships, Dean’s commendation for high achievement and the George Christensen Memorial Prize for Oral Surgery.
Always keen to teach Dr McNamara has held an associate lecturer position with the University of Queensland since 2010 and was promoted to a senior lecturer position in 2017. Dr McNamara believes that this role allows him the opportunity to guide the next generation of surgeons to the highest standard of patient care.
In 2012 Dr Zeb McNamara was selected for specialist training in the Queensland Oral and Maxillofacial surgery program. He completed his training at the Princess Alexandra, Ipswich, Logan, Gold Coast and Royal Brisbane Public Hospitals, culminating in passing his fellowship exams in 2016. Throughout his career Dr McNamara has had a keen interest in research, and has presented and published research both nationally and internationally. In 2018 he was nominated and selected to become the President of the QLD ANZAOMS Oral and Maxillofacial Society.
